    Supreme Court.
Ow Tuesday last the Supreme Court was
ned at St. Eleanor’s, Judge Peters presi-
ding. The following were the gentlemen
    composing the Grand Jury :—

Ww. G. Strong, Foreman; John Cairns,
James Hall, Donald McMillan, Hugh Massey,
Benjamin 8, Mills, Harry C. Green, John L.
Muttart, John Lord, Archd, McMurdo, Arte-
mas Hooper, John Gillis, Alexander Hooper,
    Finlay McNeill, Richard Dawson, James
    Reid, Stephen MeNeill, -Thomas Huckins,
Jesse Wright, Archd. Ramsay, James Wright,
    ‘Thomas Sims, Peter McNutt.

We will engeavor next week to give a list
of all the cases and how they terminate.

Ata meetinng of the Fire Engine Co., held
in Strong's Hall, on ‘Tuesday evening, it was
voted that the funds in the hands of the Co,
‘be appropriated for uniform caps. It having
appeared that some of the men were disatis-
fied at serving without pay, the meeting on
motion divided, when it appeared that only
six members desired to withdraw at the end
of their term. We are glad to see the inter-
est manifested by the members to keep up
their organization, which would be a credit to
any town. An effort to get up a complete
uniform for the company should be made,
and we feel that our citizens would heartily
    second such a move.—J’ro.

We are compelled this week to omit te
advertisement of the Canadian Dominion Di-
rectory, and also a number of other’ adverti-
    sements.

We received the other day one of the New
England Self-Acting Hand Looms. It is cer-
tainly a neat piece of machinery. We expect
the owner to arrive here ina few days, and
then those who wish to see it in operation
