    spread of the ‘scraps, we swing the clothes line just prior to setting the
    hook.

    CORRECTION ON CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNTS

    Due to an editorial oversight, a number of observers names were missed
    on the NHS article on the 1991 Christmas Bird Counts, namely, David Cairns,
    Ann MacPhail, Winifred Wake, and David Wake. Sorry folks, JDM.

    ANIMAL AND PLANT SIGHTINGS

    The heavy ice conditions in Northumberland Strait seemed to have
    precipitated a migration of seals from the. strait towards the north shore. 1
    seal of approximately 200 pounds was
    reported at the container site in Peakes
    (WM). Television and the radio reported
    others at various inland locations. Bruce
    Pigot reported a.Grey Seal with pup at Red
    Point Provincial Park on Jan. 18 but there
    was no sign of it on Jan. 23.

    Red fox reports this winter have
    been common, even near Charlottetown
    (Mermaid Feb. 9, (WM)

    appeared at a snow top feeder in Donagh. 1 AR
    Two of these squirrels fought twice ina See i
    10 minute period. The number of squirrels
    increased to 5 on Mar. 16. Four of the
    squirrels acted wary of each other and
    seldom fought but each time a fifth
    squirrel approached the food, one of the four ‘squirrels would chase it. On
    Mar. 22, the feeding site was changed to a low snow area where no tunnels
    existed or could be dug. Several very aggressive short duration fights took.
    place between 2 of 3 red squirrels at this feeding site.

    Joe Dolphin reported a small skunk on the Peter's Road on Feb. LT.
