MONTREAL (CP) — The mar-
ket was mixed within a mostly
fractional range at the close of
moderate trading on the Montreal
and Canadian stock exchanges
Despite %-point lesses by Na-
tional Steel Car at 21 and How-
ard Smith at 34%, steels and pa-
pers were firm. One-point gains
‘were registered by Anglo - Cana-
dian Pulp at 32 and Atlas at 22.
U> % each were Algoma at 30%
and Canada Iron at 31. Bowater
improved % at 5%.
Massey-Ferguson traded 16,306
shares and gained % at 9%. Also
in the miscellaneous category,
Afgus jumped 1% to 24%, simp-
son's improved 1% at 26% and
General Dynamics at 58 was up
But Ford A showed an %4-
point loss at 9142 and Dominion
Stores slipped 1% to 685%.
A shaky utilities section saw %-
point gains by Bell at 42% and
Brazil at 7% and a loss of % by
Gatineau at 36. :
Losses predominated in the

ket was mixed within a mostly
fractional range at the close of
moderate trading on the Montreal
and Canadian stock exchanges
Despite %-point lesses by Na-
tional Steel Car at 21 and How-
ard Smith at 34%, steels and pa-
pers were firm. One-point gains
‘were registered by Anglo - Cana-
dian Pulp at 32 and Atlas at 22.

and Canada Iron at 31. Bowater
improved % at 5%.
Massey-Ferguson traded 16,306
shares and gained % at 9%. Also
in the miscellaneous category,
Afgus jumped 1% to 24%, simp-
