    HOLLOWAY’S OINTMENT.
    Circular to the Sick.

The first t ital surgeons and medical authors
    vdmit the unparalleled anti-inflammatory |

and healing properties of this Ointment; govern-
ments sanction its use im their nayal and military
services; and the ses in thig country, and
throughout the world, repose the utmost cenfidence

    It penetrates the sources
    tion which underlie the

    Rheumatism, Scrofula, Erysipelas. |
These are among the most terrible and agonizing

    | diseases, yet in their worst forms, and when seem
jingly inewrable, they invariably disappear under a

persevering application of this soothing, healing
    antidote to pain amd inflammation.

King’s Evil, Fever Sores, Stiff Joints

In cases of King’s Evil where medicinal waters,
lotions, and every recipe of the pharmagop@ia have
proved useless, the Ointment will accomplish @ the-
rough cure. Fever Sores heal quickly under its
influence, and its relaxing effect upon contracted
    sinews is truly wonderful.

    Discharging Ulcers.

A most remarkable and happy change is produced
in the eppearance of malignant ulcers after a tew
applications of this Ointment. The surrounding
redness Vanishes, and granules of healthy flesh begin
the place of the discharged matter. This
n more or less rapidly, until the orifice |
is filled up with sound material and the ulcer is
    radically cured. |

    A Word to Mothers.

The young are the most frequent sufferers from
external injuries, and therefore every mother should |
have this healing preparation constantly at hand

It is an absolute specitic for burns, sprains, and
bruises, and quickly removes the encrusted sores |
    which sometimes disfigure the heads and faces ct}

    to take

    uiuareg. |

    Heated Blood, Seorbutic Eruptions. |
This Ointment is universally resorted to with the
happiest effects by seafurers for easing and curing |
in diseases resulting from the continued use |
    it is largely and sucecastu'ly

    curing the
curvy and the aanoying eruptions which spring from
everheated blood. Its fine ec oling properties are |
invaluable in inflammation, ulcers, or sores, of the |
iegs or feet, and it gives greater ease than any other
ipplication to the aches and darting pains, produced
y varicose veins or neuralgia, resulting from expo-
    sure tu cold or wet.

Wounds. Bruises, Burns, and Scalds. |
The exrent to which mechanical and manufacturing
industry in this country has reached, is greater than |
in any »re the liability to bodily accident
increased in the same ratie. Accidents are Ju- |
nentably frequent, and often when seewing|ly trivial |
} o end fatally from want ct |
luc attention and proper remedies. The most)
powerful curative ever applied to wounds, bruises, |
vurns, or sores of any sort, is Helloway’s Ointment
Every tradesman, in fact, every man te whom an ac
cident way happen — and who is there exempt ?—
should be provided with it against the physical dan- |
gers which, though never lureseen, are vf hourly

    vecurrence.
    Bad Legs, Piles, and Fistulas.

The cures which this Ointment effects in healing
Ulcers of jong standing, and which have resisted ali
other applications, as wellasin curing bad legs, Piles
and Fistulas, have been so countiess and so notorious
throughout the world, that any efiurt to give an
adequately detailed statement of their number or
character would be vain. It is sufficient to say that
the Vintment has never prcved inefiicacious.

From Harvey Sickler, Esq., the able editor of the

    Tunkhannock Democrat, Pennsylvania.

« Our only child, about three years of age, was
attacked by pimples on his forehead. They rapidly
spread until they formed a loathsome and virulent
sore, which covered his face, and actually blinded
his eyes for some days _ A skilful physician applied
nitrate of silver ie other remedies, without any
apparent effect. For fifteen days we guarded his
hands, lest with them he shoald tear open the fes-
tering and corrupt wound which covered his whole

ace. Having tried every thing else we had any
hope from, we,pegan giving your SARSAPARILLA,
and -epplying the iodide of potash lotion, 2s you
direct. The sore began to heal when we had given
the first bottle, and was well when we had finished
the second. The child’s eyelashes, which had come
out, grew again, and he is now as healthy and fair
as any other. The whole neighborhood predicted
    that the child must die.”

    Syphilis and Mercurial Disease.

From Dr. Hiram Sloat, of St. Louis, Missouri.

“T find your SARSAPARILLA a more effectual
remedy for the secondary symptoms of Syphilis
and for syphilitic disease than any other we possess.
The profession are indebted to you for some of the
    best medicines we have.”

From A. J. French, M. D., an eminent physician of
Lawrence, Mass., who is a prominent member of
    the Legisiature of Massachusetts.

“Dr. AYER. My dear Sir: I have found your
SARSAPARILLA an excellent remedy for Syphilis,
both of the primary and secondary type, and effec-
tual in some cases that were too obstinate to yield
to other remedies. I do not know what we can em-
ploy with more pes f of suceess, where &@ power-
    ful alterative is required.”

Mr. Chas. S. Var Liew, of New Brunswick, N.J.,
had dreadful ulcers on his legs, caused by the abuse
of mereury, or mercurial disease, which grew more
and mere aggravated for years, in spite of ever
remedy or treatment that could be applicd, until the

-rsevering use of AYER’S SARSAPARILLA relieved
1im. Few cases can be found more inveterate and
Gistressing than this, and it todk several dozen
    bottles to cure him.

    Leucorrhea, Whites, Female Weakness,
are generally produced by internal Scrofulous Ul
ceration, and are very often cured by the alterative
effect of this SARSAPARILLA. Some cases require,
however, in aid of the SARSAPARILLA, the skilf
    application of locai remedics,

From the well-known and widely-celebrated Dr.

    Jacob Morrill, of Cincinnati,

“TJ have found your SARSAPARILLA an exeellent
alterative in diseases of females. Many cases o
    Irregularity, Leucorrhea, Internal Ulecration, and

this reason the paticnt too often suffers in secret, or

    PHCG@:NIX BITTERS.

'ENMIESE Medicines have now been before the pub-

lic for a period of THIRTY YEARS, and
during that time bave maintained a high character
in almost.every part of the globe for their extraor-
dinary and immediate power of restoring perfect
health to persons suffering under nearly every kind
of disease to which the human frame is liable.

    IN MANY THOUSANDS

of certificated instances, they have even rescued suf
ferers from the very verge of an untimely grave,
after all the deceptive nustrums of the day had ut-
terly failed; and to many thousands they have
permanently secured that uniform enjoyment ot
health, without which life itself isbut a partial bless-
ing. So great, indeed, has their efficacy invariably
and infallibly proved that it has appeared secarcely
less than miraculous to those who were acquainted
with the beautifully philosophical principles upon
which they are compounded, and upon which they
consequently act. Lt was to their manifest and sen
sible action in purifying the springs and channels ot
life, and induing them with renewed toneand vigor,
that they were indebted for their name.

Unlike the host of pernicious quackeries which
boast of vegetable ingredients, the LIFE MEDI.
CIN Es are purely and solely vegetable; and contain
neither Mercury, nor Antimony, nor Arsenic nor any
other mineral,in any form whatever. They are en-
tirely composed of extracts from rare and powerful
plants, the virtues of which, though long known te
several Indian tribes, and recently to some eminent
phartaacentica! chemists, are altogether unknown to
the ignorant pretenders to medical science; and wer
never befure administered in so happily efficacious
    a combination.

The first operation is te loosen from the coats of the
st.mach and bowels the variousimpurities and cradi-
ties constantly settling round them; and to remove
the hardened fwces which colleet in the convolu-
tivns of the smallintestines. Other medicines only
partially cleanse these, and leave such collecte:
masses behind as to produee habitual Cost:venes>
with all its train cof evils, or sucden Diarrheea
with its imminen dangers. This fa: is well-known
to allregular anatomists whe exacinve the human
bowels after death; and hence theprejudiccs ot!
    | these well informed men against the quack medi-
cines of the age. The second effect of the VEGE-
fABLE LIFE MEDICINES is to cleanse the kid
neys and the bladder; and, by this means, the live:
and lungs, the healthful action of which entirel
depends upon the regularity of the urinary organs.
fhe blood, which takes its red color from the agency
of the liver and lungs, bef.re it passes into the
heart, being thus purified by them, and nourished
by food coming from a clean stumach, courses freely
through the veins, renews every part of the system,
and triumphantly mounts the bauner of health in
    the blooming cheek.

The following are among the distressing variety
of human diseasesin which the VEGETABLE LIFE
MEDICINES are well known to be infallible.
    | DYSPEPSIA, by thorough y cleansing the first
} and second stomachs, and cresting a flow of pure
    | bealthy bile, instead of the stale and acrid kind;
Fiatulency, Loss of Appetite, Heartburn, Headache,
    Restlessness, Ill-Temper, Langour, and Melancholy,
which are the general symptoms uf Dyspepsia, will
vanish, as & natural consequence of its cure.

COS LIV ENESS, by cleansing the whole length of
the intestines with asulventprocees, and without vio-
lence: all viclent parges leave the bowols costive
    within two days.

DIARRUGA and CIIOLERA, by removing the
sharp acrid fluids by which these complaints are oc-
casioned, and by promoting the lubricative secretion
    of the mucuous membrane.

FEVEKS of all kinds, by restoring the blood to a
regular circulation, through the process of perspi-
ration in such cases, and the thorough solution of
    all intestinal obstruction in others.

The Lire Mepictyes have been known to cure
Ricumatism perinanently in three weeks, and Gou/
in half that time, by removirg local inflammation
from the muscles and ligaments of the joints.

Dropsies of all kinds, by freeing and strengthen-
ing the kidneys and bladder: they uperate must de-
lightfally oa these important organs, and hence they
uave ever been found a certain remedy for the
    worst cases of Gravel.

Also Worms, by dislodging from the turnings of
the bowels the slimy matter to which these creatures

    | adhere.

    A LIVING DEATH,

And restore bim to his friends in a sound, and

Before presenting this wonderful cleansing rem-
edy to the North American public, Dr. Rapwar
was determined to test its medicinal powers for the
cure of the class of diseases for which it is prescribed
in the South American Provinces, as it is a fact well
    known to all physiologists that

    SCROFULA, LEPROSY, SYPHILIS,

and its horrible train of concomitants, prevail in the
tropical regions of the South, to a much greater and
wore malignant degree than in the North. In fact
there is scarcely a family in any of the South Am-
erican Provisces that is free from Secrofula, or its
kindred diseases. It runs in the blood of all its
people, and has become established as a constitu-
tional infirmity, aod has baffled the skill of their
best physicians. With knowledge of these facts,
Dr. Rapway was determined to test the accuracy o

    RADWAY’S RENOVATING RESOLVENT,

which was prepared expressly to meet the exigen-
cies of the diseases, as developed in the tropics.
Large supplies were sent to Brazil, Buenos Ayres,
Chili, Peru, Equador, Venezuela, Bolivia, New
Grenada, and to several! islands of the Spanish main,
and was thoroughly tested by Physicians and the
Priesthood, and is now the official remedy used by
the Physicians, under the name of * Sclutivo Reno-
vador de Radway,’ (the Spanish for Radway’s Re-
novating Resolvent,) in the treatment of Serofula,
Syphilis, U.cers, Tumors, Prolapsus Uteri, Elephan-
tiasis, Erysipelas, Saint Anthony’s Fire, St. Vitus’
Dance, Fever Sores, all diseases of the Skin, humers
in the Blood, white swellings, Nodes, Cankers, sores
in the mouth, deafness, discharges from the eyes,
ears, and nose, glandular swellings, dropsy and
constitutional diseases. Such has been the unpar-
illeled success of this remedy in curing these hur-
rivle diseases in the tropics, that we do not hesitate
to promise all the sufferers with Scrofula and erup-
tive diseases among our own people, with speedy
    restoration to souud-and permanent health.

It is superior to all known remedies in popular
use as a cleans:ng syrup for

    PURIFYING THE BLOOD,

and removing from the skin Pimples, Blotches, Tet-
ter, Rash and other offensive marks, and will in a
few days give a pure, clear and roseate bue of bealib

    the eyes.

tul to du good, but never docs injury.

    IMPORTANT TO PARENTS.

There is no medicive in the known world, or phy-
sician, that has ever claimed the skill of eradicating
trom the system diseases inherited, by transmission,
irom parent to child. This great power we claim
for Rapway’s ReNvovaTinc Kesolvent; and we
cel.giously declare, that if Radway’s Renovating
Resuivent is given whem” symptoms of any in-
herited disease are first exhibited, it will eradicate
the same from the syst In the early stages ot
Phthisis or Consamption, Pits, Serofula, and in cases
of sore head, Ulcers, Tumors, Hacking Cough, bron.
chitis, the use of Rapway’s Renovating Resot-
VENT wil! exterminate the transwitted disease from
the system, and make (what the parents neglected)
    a sound and healthy body.

    CHRONIC DISEASE.

Another class of dise ses that no other medicines
or the most skilful physicians have suceceded in
achieving, more than in merely palliating the saf-
ferings of the patient, which Radway’s Resolvent
will positively eradicate, is that of Chronic Diseases
that have infested the system fur years, such as
    Chronic Rheumatism, Gout, Serofula, Dyspepsia,
Syphilis, and diseases induced by tne injudicious use
ot Calomel, Mercury, Quinine ; diseases of the Liver,
Spleen, Gall, Bladder, Kidneys, Spine, &c., all of
which diseases Radway’s Renovating Resolvent will
Soetiaenty and secure to the patient a new lease of
    ife.

    A QUESTION OF THE MILLION
    ANSWERED,

    HOW 18 IT THAT
    RADWAY’S READY RELIEF

Possesses such wonderful remedial powers as to cure
so many diseases of apparently opposite phenomena?
We reply that Radway’s Keady Relief chief and
most important remedial! efficacy, is evinved in the
immediate arrest of pain, and its potency in the
treatmen’ of such diseases and maladies, where pain
is a concomitant of the disease.

Disease, like the storm, gives unmistakeable signs
of its approach. At first the threatened patient ex-
periences a slight discomfort, this followed with pain
to a greater or less extent, and other symptoms ful-
low in rapid succession. It is in this condition of
the system where Radway’s Ready Relief will be
found all-potent. Its administration, either inter-
nally or externally, as the seat of pain indicates,
will arrest the of the threatened disesse,

and quickly relieve the patient from all pain or dis-

    comfort.

If people, on the first indication of unessiness or
pain, either slight or severe, would take a dose of
Radway’s Ready Lelief, not one ia a thousand would
    ever be troubled with sickness.

    WHEN THREATENED WITH
Croup, Diptheria, Influenza, Sure Throat, Scorlet
Fever, Typhoid Fever, Pneumonia, Bilious Fever,
Small Pox, Measles, Fever and Ague, Chills and
Fever, Headache, Bilious Cholic, Diarhcea, Dysen-

tery, Cholera, Cramps and Spasms,—let "*
Ready Relief be freely used, and, in a short time, all
pain and uneasiness will cease, and the z

    disease expelled from the system.

    IF SEIZED
With either of the above diseases, the use of RAD-
WAY’S READY RELIEF will ensure a speedy
    cure.
    “IT CURES SO MANY DISEASES,

** And therefore 1’ll have none of it,” says the skep-
tic; now we appeal to the common sense of any rea-
sonable being who bas had the least experience in
mediÂąihe taking, or business relations with Pbhysi-
cians, if this is sound reasoning.

    RADWAY'S READY RELIEF

[s not recommended by us, nor prescribed for so
many varieties of disease as every physician in the
practice ef medicine, prescribes Calomel, Mercury,
Quinine, Morphine, Opium and other favorite bubbys
of the profession. It is a well known fact that in
ninety cases out of one Lundred, no matter what may
be the name of the disease or the condition of the
patient, Calomel forms the important and the must
active agent of the preseription: and if the symp-
tums of the disease are such as to leave any doubt in
the mind of toe physician as to arriving at a decided
conclusion what ty give, be gives Calomel. This is
an ancient landmark of the profession, which pv ia-
novation bas ever been suffered to alter.

    WEIGII FACTS.

When we tell the public that the use of Radway’s
    Ready Kelief will cure the sick of certain diseases;
, that it will stop pain in a few minutes after its ap-
    | plication; that it will protect the system against at-
tacks of all walarious, contagious and infectious dis
eases, we have the facts to establish the truth of our
statements, acknowledged by thousands who hare
proved its unfailing powers en their own persuns, Go
where you will, speak of Radway’s Ready Relief in
any assemb-age of persons, some one or more will
bear witness of deriving benefit from its use,

    IN MILITARY CAMPS.

fulness of a Specific medicine as a wilitary camp.
Radway’s Ready Kelief bas been used in alimvust every
camp throughout the Grand Army of the Univn with
the happiest success. Letters from Brigade and Ke-
gimental surgecns, officers, and privates assure us
that Radway’s Ready Kelief bas contributed more to
the protection of the troops against disease, and to
the use and comfurt uf the sick than all other med-
beings used or means suggested by the medical au-
    orities.
