P.)-A lumber import duty of
three dollars a thousand feet
was voted into the revenue hill
today by the United States fin-
ance committee.
The import duties on oil and
coal provided by the House were
knocked out.

With his cruising ship stopped in
Tahiti, Samoa, Fiji, New Guinea or
Ceylon, he found the same over~
population, he said, and although
he problem was balanced in pert
by overproduction, nevertheless
widespread unemployment can be
diminished only by regulating
births.
“I return more impressed than
ever," he said, "with the principle
of not more but better and finer
epresentatives of every race.”
