The crowd swooned at these talented entertainers. Many fond menories were recollected as the Platter 's sang the old favorites such as "Twilight Time", My Prayer", "The Great Pre —tender". A feeling of net -algia swept ovar the crow -d as they cheered them on However, after a half-hour the sensational Platters were gone. The lucky students who witnessed this brief per— formance had paid$l.25 for the occassion. Although some students felt it was well worth the price they paid, quite a few others went away feeling jipped. A Successful Flop This past Sunday night, January 16, Kevin Gillis well-known coffeehouse singer from Ontario performed for a meager fifty students. Kevin's music was along the "Country and western" -music that is so well liked on this Island yet the majority of the students were from off the Island. It was expect- ed that at least two hundred and fifty students would come to the two shows to pay for Kevin's fee but we can assume that the one thousand seven hundred and seventy one full-time students of this university were either at Crowbar or at the Capital watching "The Rain People".
