For the past few years she had been making her home with her son, Isaac samplefiThe late Mrs. Sample formerly resided in Vic- toria Cross. Her husband, John Sample, died in i928. She was a quiet, industrious, christian char- ‘acter, behaved by all who knew her. ‘The funeral service which was held on Wednesday» Dec. 18th, was conducted by Roy. D. M. Sinclair, Valleyfleld, assisted by Rev. A. Long, Montague, and was largely attended. Beautiful floral tributes bore fragrant and loving testimony to the esteem in which the de- ceased was held. Interment was in the Union Road cemetery. She leaves to mourn her passing. one brother Malcolm Nicholson. Victoria Cross; three sons. Isaac and John. Upper Montague, and Dan on the old home. Victoria Cross; two daughters, Sadie, Mrs. 'l‘imoney. Boston, and Mae, Mrs. Riley, Boston. All the family were present at the funeral service. A son, Alva, died in Winnipeg in 192B.
