IN MEMORIAM RONALD A. MACDONALD The parish of Little Pond eras once again called upon to bear the lcss of one of its esteemed and most rcspcctcd parishioners, Ronald A. MacDonald, who passed away at his home on Monday, Sept. 8th. The late Mr. MacDonald \vas one of the old- est residents of the parish, born in Little Pond in 1856, he resided on the homestead of his father, the late Alexander MacDonald. This pro- perty, which has been in the family for over a hundred years, has’ been improved by each generation and is today a fine snug homestead. The deceased, who was ailing a few weeks, was tenderly cared for by his devoted wife and sister, and by his daughter, who made a great sacrifice to spend all the time she could at the bedside of her father. Louis Callaghan, vis- ited him frequently and administer- ed to him the last consoling rites of the Catholic Church, thus fortified, strengthened and resigned to die, he gradually weakened and surrounded by his family and dearest friends, he quietly breathed forth his soul to God. Mr. MacDonald was a true Christ- ian, a living exemplar of sobriety and honesty and a faithful member of the Catholic Church. He. gave whole-hearted support to parish work and stood for progress in all matters laertnining to school im- provcment also. In social life too, he took his part. fond of company and especially fond of music, he made friends and neighbors welcome to his hospitable home and even in his last days he vrislicd for and had ;music played for him. i He died as he lived, o. practical Catholic, a good faithful husband, a loving father and brother, and one to all who knew him, a loyal and hon- est friend. This was manifest by the large attendance at the funeral, when relatives, friends and neigh- bors gathered to pay their last tri- bute of respect. Rev. Dr. Callaghan sang the Re- quiem High Mass and gave the Ben- ediction in the church and at tho graveside.
