GEORGE WRIGHT, Treasurer. POSTPONED SHERIFF’S SALE. THE SALE of the Township Lands in Prince County for arrear of Assessment due thereon, advertised to take place on the 27th February, inst., is postponed until Saturday the 30th MARCH next. JOHN BEER, Sherifi'. Sherifi's Ofice, Prince County, Feb. 27, 1867. Sir John Eliot, born in 1737, was much patronized by George IV. when Prince of Wales. In a letter from Dr. Lori. to Bishop Percy. dated March 26. 1786. the illness of the heir apparent is mentioned. and he is represented as very ill :-—‘ Even in much danger, and only saved by bleed- ing and blistering, which. it is hoped, will make him more cautious of eating and drinking in future.’ Sir John told the Queen that he had been preaching as much to the Prince against intemperance as any bish0p could have done. The Queen replied, ‘ And probably with like success.’ 7 W Sromrrrcsnr—In Kansas the people are to vote upon the female sufi‘rage question, by ordering of the Legislature. In Boston Rev. Dr. Huntington favors the establishment of an order of deaconesses. The female sculptors of this country take the highest reulr among artists in Rome. Female teachers are in such demand in California that “ none others need apply.” Female telegraph Operators manipulate the instrument with wonderful skill. Feminine clerks in the Treasury Department are said to accomplish more in a day than those of the opposite sex. There are several profession- al female harbors in New York who handle their razors with rest dexterity. These are 09ml, significant evidence of the tendency of things.
