S. has a hen four yeacs old that, up to a year ago, was perfectly black, and laid constantly, when a change gradually to take place. The color changed to white; she has stopped laying and taken to crowing instead. She has raised a comb, and set herself up as a phenomena generally. A weavy storia passed over this Province last night. It was accompanied by vivid flashes of lightning, thunder, rain and hail. On St. Peter’s Road the lightning struck and demolished a tree tininlle the residence of Mr. Andrew Duncan. The occupants of the house were much affected by the shock.—At Brackley Point Road another tree was struck by the electric flaid. The ground, for several chains, was shaken, and men who saw the occurrence were terrified by subsequent awfully vivid flashes.—At Covehead very heavy showers of hail fell, doing considerable damage to the crops. ——The rain in the western section of the Province is reported to have been very heavy, though no damage to the crops is so far reported.
