"Love," instead of "charity"—and you have the key that unlocks every mystery, the solution of every prob- lem, the cure for every disease, the balm for every heart, the calm for every storm or tempest that sweeps human life, in any climate, or under any sky. “Charity begins at home." That is what the ancient philosopher said. "ind the saying is as true today as it was a thousand years ago. We are always making the tragic mistake in supposing that love should begin with the other fellow; love should start some place other than our own home; love should burn in some con- cern, outside of our own place of business; If lovc is not blazing on vour altar, you will not likely find it on any other altar in nll the world. If charity does not begin in your home, you had better make up your mind that the doors of other homes will be closed against you. We have not to start right or end wrong. The Church and thc Grcnt Appeal.‘ Love is always beginning. Love be- gins in thc soul. Begins at home. Begins in the community. Begins‘ in the great Empire of which we‘ form a part. Love does not end in the heart of our national life, but ilows out and lives and moves in the very heart of the Infinite and re- joices in all that makes up the eter- nal temple of the soul. A real, love passion for the Church of Jesus Christ-this is Oranglsm, at its best and highest. So far as the Church is concerned‘ the Orange Order declares its brief lII terms easy to be understood. Jesus Christ is liead of thc Church. And what is that belief? First of nib-Jesus Christ is the Great Head of the Church. Christ is the Head‘ ‘of the Body, which is the Church. The Gospel the Only Rule of Faith and Practice. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only rule of faith and practice. The Bible is the one and all sufllcient creed. Through all the tortuous, streams of history, this Order has‘ built its entire structure upon the Book. The Bible is its only defence. The one apologetic of the Order ls the open Bible. Others have a right to believe what they will. Orangism zlnims the right of the private in-' terpretationpf the Scriptures, and to live a life built upon the plan of the Gospel of Christ, as it is made plain by the indwelling Spirit of God. The Great Gospel The appeal of the Orange Order rests upon the word of God, as re- lated to cvcry phase of human life. The supreme motive of life and liv- ing is the law of Christ in love, sac- rifice and righteousness. The great zourt of appeal is not force; it is an address to the free soul of mun, with all the consequences attending the acceptance or rejection of God's eternal love in Christ Jesus. The Separation of Church and Statc The Orange Order takes its stand upon the separation of Church and State. In this position, the Order has a distinct and telling message for our day and generation. And what is that outstanding message to our times? It is this: Let the fihurch attend to the great business to which it was called, and for which irwas born. The great business of redemption by the Cross and by the Spirit. The supreme business of saving men and women from hell. on earth, and hell beyond. "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's." This is the march- ing order of the Church, and Orang- lsm falls in line with this call to the :olors of our Supreme Head. ‘l Jesus is King In conclusion, let it be said that the Orange Order rests upon the Kingshlp of Jesus. Jesus is King. The kingdoms of this world are to Souvenir Goods This year we have the finest stock of Souvenirs for the Tourist trade that we have ever had.
