March 3. 1952. the people of Freetown and suuound' districts were sadden- ed and shocked to learn of the ” passing of Mrs. Mary Beairato. formerly of Freetown and later of Barringtaon. N. 6., at the early age of 55 years. Mrs. Beairsio was the daughter of the late Samuel Haynes and Mrs. Haynes of Wolverhampton. England. The deceased was a member of the United Church and a valued member of the W.M.S. of Barrington, N. 3. she was possessed with a kind- ly disposition and was a friend to all who knew her. especially to her patients, both young and old, who will long remember her un- derstanding care for them. She was a devoted mother and grand- mother and loved to visit with her family where she was always welcomed. There are left to iimurn her passing two sons. Allan of Fire- town and Norman with the R.(;. A.F. in Manitoba. Her only daugh- ter. Marjorie, died at the age of eight years. Also surviving are two graiidchildren,Colbourne and Den- ton, by whom she will be lovingly remembered. A short funeral service was held at the Kenny's Funeral Parlours, Barrlngton. N. S.. on Tuesday. March 4th, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Fenton of the Anglican Church. The remains were then conveyed to the home of her son Allan, Freetown, on Thursday evening. The funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon with a short service at. the home at l.30,tliciice to Freetown United Church where service was held at 2 p.ni.. con- ducted by the Rev. J. K. Prank Arnett, president of the Board of Trustees. The campaign will be conducted this spring. with advance plan- ning and organisation work to be completed by mid-May. The pro- ject. has been officially designated as the Prince County Hospital completion fund. "We are going ahead with this major step,” Mr. Arnett explained "because we must. We have made a thorough study of our existing hospital facilities and our entire operation for the six month per- iod from the opening of new main hospital building last. August. our Eoard and Staff Jointly recognise the acute need for completing all facilities and equipment for the main structure and constructing and equipping a modern. efficient nurses' home and nurse training school. "As trustees of hospital protec- tion for the people of Prince County, and as an important fac- tor in making available our facili- ties and services to other Islanders. we feel that. we would be negligent of our public responsibilities if we did not seek to expand and more adequately integrate and balance our hospital facilities."
