Sixteen fishing vessels have already ar- rived here in distress as the result of the disastrous hurricane which swept. the fish- ing banks on Tuesday. The weather has been unprecedentedly boisterous on the banks for the month of April, there having been three regular hurricanes. Another heavy south-east gale prevails to-day which will doubtless add to the list of disasters. Six thousand immigrants landed at Hali- fax during the first three months of this year, or over five hundred more than land; ed at Halifax during the whole of last year.
