Malpeque
The Presbytcry of Prince Edward
Island met in special session in the
Keir Memorial Presbyterian church,
Malpeque. on Wednesday evening.
August Bth for the induction of
Rev. Fred Williamson into the pas-
toral charge of the congregation of
Malpeque. The Presbytery was op-
ened in due form by the Moderator,
Rev. Andrew Brown.
Those present were Rev. Andrew
Brown, Moderator; Rev. R. Hensley
Staveg. Clerk; Rev. W. Bruce Muir,
Rev. . Scott Fulton, Rev. Thos. A.
Rodger; Rev. Fred Williamson and
Messrs Andrew McNeill, Robert Mc-
Nutt, H. F. McKendrick, Angus
Green, John D. McKay. John T.
Murray. Douglas Jardine, D. M.
Bernard. Andrew McLeod. Elders,
and Mr. H. B. McKay, representat-
ivc layman.
Messrs. R. E. Macdonald, Fred
Clarke, Colin Mountain and Alex.
Hiltz, Elders. were also present lat-
er in the service. At the induction
service, Rev. R. Hensley Btavert,
Moderator of the Malpeque session,
presided and narrated the steps
leading up to the call.
Rev. Thomas A. Rodger preached
the sennon, Rev. John Harris read
the lesson, and Rev. James McKay
offered prayer.
Rev. Andrew Brown. Moderator of
Presbytery inducted, Rev. W. Bruce
Muir gave the address to thc ncwly-‘
inducted minister and Rev. M. Scott
Fulton addressed the people of the
congregation, All the addresses were
of a high order and the musical se-
lections were well rendered. The
service throughout was a very lm-
pressive one.
Just before the close of the ser-
vice. Mr. Andrew McNeill. represen-
tative clder of the Malpequc con-
gregation came forward and in a
short address told of the splendid
services rendered by Rev. R. Hens-
ley Stavert as Moderator of the
Maipeque Session and presented Mr
Btavert with a large sized purse. In
a few well chosen words. Mr. Stav-
ert thanked Mr. McNeill and the
people of thc Malpequc Congrega-
tion for this generous expression of
their kindness. The singing of "Oh
God of Bethel" followed by the
bcnediction by Rev. Mr. Williamson
brought the induction service to a
close. '
A social hour was then spent in
the public hall at which a dainty
lunch was served by the ladies.
Rev. Fred. W. Williamson has al-
ready proven himself to be a work-
er who needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth,
and the outlook for the future of
this historic congregation of Mal-
pcque is bright with hope.
The Presbytery reassembled for a
short while at the close of the in-
duction service. Rev. Fred William-
son's name was added to the Roll
-of Presbytery. It was unanimously
agreed that, should Mr. John Flick.

don field decide to not enter college
in September that he be appointed
to this field for another six months.
The Presbytery than adjoumed tv

and club, of which public intimat-

DIED AT 103 YEARS
TORONTO, Ont.. Aug. 10. - Be-
lo-nging to a race of long-lived folk.
her father and her mother both
passing the century mark. Mrs.
Flora MacDonald of this city died
in her 103rd year.
Of Scottish decent. she spoke Gae-
lic as fluently as English and took
pleasure in teaching the language
to one of hergranddaughters. She
is survived by one daughter. May;
eight grandchildren and twelve
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. MacDonald is the fourth
centarian to die in Toronto this
year. The others were: Mrs. Jean-
to Ovens, 105; John"0‘Connor, 100.
and Mrs. Catherine Bailey. 105
years of age.
When her last birthday arrived.
Mrs. MacDonald showed great pride
in the 102 candles on her cake. ar
