Motors, rails, steels, coppers, building materials and a wide as- sortment of selected issues made headway in active trading. The Associated Press average of 60 stocks advanced 80 cents over Tuesdays all~time summit to a peak of $193.70. The DowJones industrial aver- age advanced 2.26 to $28.15, an- other record high. The averages were boosted by solid gains of such pivotal stocks as American Telephone, up 21/4, General Motors; up 1%, and East- man Kodiak, up 2%. Aluminium Ltd, up 174.1, was the main gainer among Canadian stocks. Distillers-(Seagrams rose % and Canadian Pacific 1/5.
