Health and Vigor for Sickly Women. By Supplying arihgbundance of liich, Red Li e-Sustaining and System- building Blood. Thoroughly Cures the Ills Peculiar to Women. Dr. Chase’s i Nerve Food. The feminine organism is an intricate ma~s of delicate and sensitive nerves which require an amount of pure, rich blood to nourish them and supply them with the vital force necessaryto properly perform their functions. W’hen the blood is lacking in quantity or quslity the nerve cells waste and, shrivelup and by means of pain and' irregularities make known their starved, and depleted condition. Unless the nervous system is put in proper condition all the medicine in the world will never cure the weakness , and irregularities peculiar to women. i Because Dr . Cha.se‘s Nerve Food contains K the elements of nature which go to form i new, rich blood and create new nerve force it is the most certain cure ohtainablf for such ailments. When the nervous system becomes exhausted the whole body is more or less N affec'e'l and the variouq organs fail to perform the duties devolving upon them. Digestion is impaired; there are feelings of discomfort in the stomach after meals Q nervous, sick headaches, irritability, sieeplessness; spells of weakness and diz- I ziness come over you; you feel disheart-_ ened, discouraged and despondent and fear prostrstion, paralysis or insanity. , But there is new hope for you in the use of Dr. Chase’s Nerve Food. Not the false fl hope which is aroused by medicines com \\ posed of alcohol and other stimulants, but the hope which finds foundation in added flesh tissue, ln,betfer appetite, more buoyant feelings and gradual _disap pearance of annoying symptoms. Besides these a widow andl two young children areleft to mourn. The many friends here will sympathize with the bereaved relatives. ` THERE were shipped by the Northam-V ber-land Wednesday morning en route to? Manitoba eight head of pure- bred Aber- deen. Angus cattle from the herd of John Richards, Bideford. This is probably the , land with him most valuable lotof cattle that ever left the Maritime Provinces. They have been sold to twoof the most prominent breeders of ‘these cattle in _Manitoba who are certainly to be congratulated upon secur- imr such high class specimens ot' this famous breod.;The lot comprises one bull, lMcE iehern but now in New Glasgow two years old, one bull calf five .months old, four cows, one yearling helfer and one helfer calf. The bull is a uiagnifioent animal and a typical representative of the breed. He has great substance, stands on short legs, with fine bones, and though only in moderate condition, weighs about 1&Xl lbs. At the head of Mr Richards"hetii this animal won the sweepstakes over bulls of all ages at Toronto Fair last fall when only one year old;and it is therefore reasonable to assume that he is the best bull of the breed in all Canada. The bull calf is also a good one in all respects. He weighs over Sllllbs at dve months old. The cows are all excellent specimens, being low set and with great depth of body and smooth in outline. Any one of them will turn the scales at over 1300 lbs. though only in breeding condition and justcu the grass. These cattle will assur- edly uphold the honor and prestige of the brefd inthe far od' provinces and _will also reflect credit upon our Island stock. . Our izrest western provinces with their, boundless resources and immense possi- bilitifsin live stock raising are destined at no distant day to become the home of some of the best pure bred herds in the world; and it is therefore pleasing to know that some of their most prominent breeders in seeking new blood for their herds, are passing hy Ontario and making thelrpurchases in the little province by the ses. It is claimed, and no doubt with much truth, V-that there is no spot in the world where catzle, in fact all kinds of domestic animals, are _freer from dis-t ease than on this Island. Here, tuber- culosis, pleuro and many other ills that are so common among cattle in many other countries, are practically un- r known; and were this fact more generally known throughout Canada, the United States and elsewhere, unquestionably our stock would be readily sought-especially for breeding purposes. How important it is then that our government should rigidly enforce the laws which have been enacted regarding" the examination by competent veterinaries of all live stock, especially ' cattle brought- tg, our shores, and allow none to land which cannot pass the test for tuber- culosis and otherwise show a clean bill of heal h, so as to__Cmai_ntaln . the reputation for that freedom from disease! which we noir claim to possess. It ismuch easier, considering our isolation,` than other places to enforce such laws; and their en< fo.:ement_Would give this provincaan advantage in the cattle markets of the world, sowever it is ,to be hoped '_ that this tra _ with the I-.°5,5> so ,_ auslllolously begun, continue andenlarge. ,_ V. _ ,z ~‘ ',;_ ,.- "»~.' shoes, Ames Holden Vmake.
