The choir of the church was assisted by the choir of St. Danstan’s Cathedral, the en- tertainment being under the direction of Mr. Blanchard, Organist of the Cathedra}. The programme was made up of sacred and secular music, by Mozart, Lambillotte, Neukomm, Mercadante, Borghi, Capocci, Balfe, ete. Every number of the pro- gramme was artistically rendered, and re- ceived from the large audieuce present un- stinted applause. Three grand choruses, by Mozart, Borgli and Lambillotte were specially remarkable for tbe precision and taste with which they were rendered. The Rev. Father McElmeel made a short, but neat and appropriate, address. At the close of the concert, the Rev. Father Gallant, parish priest of St, Anne’s, thanked St- Dunstan's choir for the assistanve they had given him. It may, however, be remark- ed that, in the opinion of the members of the choir, the thanks shuulJd have come from them, in view of the studious care which the pastor and parishioners of St. Anne’s had bestowed on their comfort from their leaving town until their return. and Other Items. => - . . | Fresh beef from Ontario is ; sae . ‘THE DAILY E ‘TELEGRAPHIC NEWS.
