She was a daughter of the late John Carr and Eleanor Kent. She was a kind loving soul and always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. December 10th. This institute was first organis- cd in 1924 through the efforts of Miss Evelyn Pillman. the teacher of Indian River school at that time. Mine Pillman is now Mrs. Nell Simpson and lives in the neighboring district of Hamilton. 'l'he Institute did much good work by contributing to the social life of the community. by improv- ing and enlarging the school and also much charitable work. Dur- ing the war it became inactive due tc the activities of many other or- ganizations taking the spare time of the members.
