Twice recently we've seen pedes- trians scramble wildly, and a. bit ludicrously for safety to avoid a car at a busy intersection hacking into them. Some drivers have a habit of driving too far into the other street. and then backing up suddenly to avoid an oncoming car or to give more space for a car turning at the intersection. Very often pedestrians are streamlng by behind the backing car, and sometimes almost got hit. If another car is right behind, the poor pedestrian is in peril of being nipped between the two bumpers.
