Dodge, “Gail Hamil- on,” is slowly convalescing at her some in Hamilton, Mass,, and, while she receives no visitors at all, she has avritten an article entitled “In the Val- ey of the Shadow of Death.” It deals with the thoughts, impressions and ‘eelings of those who are “passing wer the river.” In the paper Miss Dodge says that she was taken ill last apring while locked in a room in the Blaine manson @ Washington. She felt that she was falling and realized that something very serious had seized her. Her most intense feeling was the shock that her friends would receive when thy broke open the door and found her dead upon the floor. She realized the situation whcn her friends found her, and could hear them ae they spoke about her, although ap- parently umeconscious. Then came a long blank, that lasted how long she knew not. At times she would partially recover consciousness and wonder whether she were d«ai or not. Her brothers, Stanwood and Brown Dodge, both of whom are fead, one dying less than a year ago, appeared to her amd conversed with naturalness.
