Dunning, New Lon- don, P .E. I. The deceased, who was in her seventy-fourth year. had been in falling health for about twelve months, yet, the end came suddenly, from heart failure. The late Mrs. Bernard was a native of ‘ the New London community and was held in hignestcem by all with whom she came in contact, she being possessed of a very kindly, sympathetic nature. From her youth, she had been af- filiated with the Presbyterian con- gregation ln, and around New Iron- don. There are left to mourn their loss, one sister, Mrs. Annie D. Mc- Kay. Clifton, two brothers, Joseph Dunning, Long River and Will Dun- ning, Boston, U. S. A. Also two sons Harry E. Bernard, Long River and Daniel Bernard, Olds, Alberta. Two daughters, Mrs. R.. E. Mercereau, Bangor, Maine, U. S. A., and the above mentioned Mrs. H. L.. Dunning. with whom she had made her home the last fifteen years. On Friday noon the funeral was held, the Rev. D. L. Griffiths, Ken-. sington, first conducted a brief ser- vice at the home, after which the remains, followed by ll, large con- course of mourners and friends, in slelghs, were conveyed to the Geddy Memorial Church, the edifice being filled by s. congregation desirous to pay their last tokens of esteem to one who was beloved by all. The ser- vice was strikingly appropriate and impressive throughout. Rev. Mr. Griffiths' discourse was based upon the words in the book of Jeremiah, "And we do all fade, like a. leaf." The tender references to the de- parted, as well as the spiritual ap- peals to the living, striking a sym- pathetic chord in the hearts of all present. _ All that was mortal of the depart.- <-:d was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery, Rev. Griffiths performing the interment ceremony.
