Wnrrualv of Bedeque leaves Tuesday 19th to attend the Methodist Con- ference at Montague. _ COURT Mount Stephen, I. O. F., holds its regular monthly meeting to-morrow evening. All members are requested to be present. Mr.F. Darke has renovated his premises in good style since the late fire. His insur- ance was satisfactorily and promptly adj usted.-Regina Standard. THE ladies of the Methodist Church at Souris purpose holding a strawberry festival next month of which particulars will be given in due course. A TELEPHONE has been placed in the oilice of Mr. William Calheck, Bedeque. It is something that the people of Central Bedeque have been urging during the last two years. THE members of Court Minnewawa I, 0, Foresters, Bedeque, are talking of a pic- nic early in July. The matter will be de- cided on at the regular meeting on Satur- day niizht 23rd inst. BLR. Robert Glover the popular clerk with Mr. Colin Wright, Bedeque, has been seriously ill with threatened appendici- tis. He is, however, improving under treatment by Dr. Sutherland. As Rev. Mr. Price is attending the Con- ference in Moncton, there will be service in the Methodist Church at Sourls in the morning and the Presbyterian Church in the evening, on Sabbath next, 24th inst. THE addition to the Dunk River cheese factory is about completed, which will make the factory one of the largest and best arranged factories in the Province. Two stands for unloading are being built, so two teams can be attended at once. _It will be a great improvement, as the wait- ing in the morning has been in the past a serious drawback. Fifteen thousand pounds of milk was received on Saturday, 16th, which is about four thousand more than the same date last year. Butter is still being manufactured, although the manufacture of cheese will soon com- mence. Witli the new boilcr and other new machinery, the Company expects to give even greater satisfaction this year than last. Mr. Albert Schurmaii is President and Mr. William Callback is Secretary of the Company. F _ Easri-:RN NOTES-Frequent showers and welcome sunshine, two of the elements essential to vegetable growth, are cover- ing the woods and fields of this section - with their coat of green.-Lobster fishing 's failing all round, the factories are dis- charging their employes, and it looks as if the end of this valuable industry is not far off.-Cod fishing isfair along the south side where the bulk of the trawls are set, b it the .school is three or four miles oil' the shore, very _far to go in stormy weather with the dories which the have been taken here with the hook and small line attached used by the trawlers at Cape North, proving conclusively the lirection from which they came. Free- man Stewart caught a cod-fish off Red Point a few days ago with the letters F, N. D. out in his side, probably done at Clpc North.-The many friends of Wil- liam W. Collin both here and elsewhere who was seriously ill, will be glad to know that he is alittle better-the last word from him before the closing of the mail.
