The first election under this Act shall take place on the first Monday ofJanuai-y, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixty six, and it shall be the duty ofthe existing Trustees, and they are hereby required to requestthe Minister or Moderator ofthe session, or the Clerk ofthe said Trustees, in case of the Minister or Moderator’s absenCe, to give notice of such election to the Con- gregation at the time of Divine Service on two Sabbaths preceding such election; or in caso ofa vacancy in the pulpit, by inserting the same in the li’oyalGuzellc, or other newspaper published iii Char- lottetown, stating the time and place of holding the same, at which time and place, the meeting shall choose a Chairman. IV. All the male adherents in the Congregation, from twenty-one years of age, who may hold a pew or half a pew, and not in arrears, or who may be contributing from ten shillings and upwards, annual- ly, and not in arrears, shall be qualified to yote at such election; and the names ofthe persons elected shall be duly recorded on the Minute Book of the Corporation; any Vacancy that may occur during the year by death, or otherwise, shall be filled up by the 'J‘rustees, such filling up being valid until the next annual election; any one or more, or all ofthe Trustees 4 may be l‘c-elctilt'd, and the election to be either by ballot or open vote. If it should so happen that the election of Trustees should not take place on the fiist Monday in January, then the existing 'l'rustees shall continue iii otlice till the eXpiration ofthe year ’ V. The Seal of the said Corporation, and all deeds, books, minutes, vouchers, obligations, secu- rities for moneys, and all and every description of property really and truly belonging to the said Con- gregatioii,shall, immediately after the passmg ofthis Act, come into the custody and possession of the above 'I‘rustees, and shall be, by them, transferred to their successors immediately following them in office as 'I‘rustoc‘. VI. It shall and may be lawful for the said Cor- poration to contract for and purchase, or in any lawful mode, whether by devise, bequest or other- wise, to acquire or obtain, either in fee simple for life or for any term of years for the benefit ofthe said Congregation, any inessuages, estates, tene- ments, buildings, real or personal estates whatsoever in this Island, and to take and receive the necessary legal conveyances, securities and transfers thereof, and which said messuages, lands, tenements, build- ings, real and personal estate shall he, and remain vested in the said Corporation, to be used and dis- posed of, howevor, in all cases accordiiig to the de- cision ofthe majority of the Congregation convened and qualified to Vote as above in the election of Trustees. VII. It shall not be lawful for the said Corpora- tion to hold real estate for the use of the said Con- gregation which shall exceed in value and yield at. any time more than a clear ne‘t yearly income of five hundred pounds, currency of this Island. VIII. It shall and may be lawful for the said Cor- porate Body for the time being, and they are hereby authorized and empowered to grant, sell, lease, ex- change, mortgage, convey or dispose of to such person or persons, as the majority of the qualified voters in the Congregation shall think proper, and for such prices, sums, rents or terms as shall be agreed upon, the whole or any part ofthe said lands and premises now held, or hereafter to be conveyed to or held by the said Trustees, and to such extent and proportion as the existing Trustees shall think prOper; and every or any conveyance thereof exe- cuted by the said Trustees in their name of oil‘s-e, under their Common Seal, shall be valid in law to convey for years, or otherwise, all such estate, title or interest as the Corporation ofthe said Presbyter— ian Congregation have or may hereafter have in the same. “’IIARI“ at ELLIS RIVER FERRY, Lot 14. 1‘0 be Sold at Public auction, on Friday the 14th day of July inst., at the hour of 3 o’clock, in the afternoon, on the spot, the erection ofa Wharf at the Ferry Landing, on Lot 14, Ellis fiver.
