A ConvENTION met on Saturday evening, the 28th inst.. at the Bay View Hotel, Souris East, to take into consideration the nomination of a fit and proper person to represent the First Electoral District in the Legislative Counci). He gave an account of his stewardship while in the Council; and said his sole aim in again appearing before the ple for re-election, was the abolition of the Council; and, judging from letters he had received from certain leading men in various parts of the District, his election was sure.
