The overall length of the dock track is one hundred feet of con- crete and two hundred and sev- enty five feet of timber. which are both placed on piles for the full 375 feet. it is extended out into ten feet of water at high tide, the cradle following the rails into the water. in which position the vessel sails into the cradle and is then drawn into position. The power is supplied by a fifteen H 1'. electric motor. The track is built on the arc of a circle so that the keel blocks will have a deciivity of two feet in length when submerged. and be horizontal in the upper position for transfer. It was designed mainly to provide facilities for immediate maintenance for draggers. elimin- ating the necessity of travelling to Pictou. N.
