A SPECIAL ISSUE This issue of the Natural History Society Newsletter has been dedicated entirely to a historical review of Blackbirds on Prince Edward Island by Bruce Pigot, a keen and careful observer who has kept natural history records for many years. Blackbirds have been moving eastward for the past 50 years or so and Bruce has probably witnessed the period when change in numbers and species was most noticeable. This article is a superb illustration of the value of observation from amateur naturalists, especially if they are continued for a number of years.
