A Fast Track The Charlottetown Driving Park Tract is in the finest condition which it ever has been at this time of year. Mr. Jas. Arhing, the cap- able traclc superintendent, has worked assiduously on it since the latter part of April and new hlla a surface which is a delight to every horseman using it. Last fall he prepared the ground and this spring disc-borrowed It and carefully removed all stones. This gives the surface a springy. resilent effect and prevents the horse's muscles and feet from be- coming sore. The ‘Driving Park Association are charging a fee to all horse- men using the track this year and this. we understand, is to be util- ized in paying for the extra ex- penses incurred in keeping the trackt watered. It is a well known fact that water is the life of n race track. When the surface becomes baked from the sun and the sandy part becomes blown off by winds. the track -is made al- most useless for training purposes. as horses speeding over it become sore. However. this condition can he prevented by the use of water, wlhether in the levening or the early morning. followed bv har- rowing and brushing. it Mlr. Ar- lbing can succeed in keeping tho track in its lpresent high standard of excellence this season he will have earned the gratitude of all the horse men training on it. -————1.0>——— IN MEMORIAM FLORA ANN STEWART The death took place on Febru- ary 19th, 1921. after a short but scv ere illness of Flora Ann. only daughter of Donald R.
