Brown organized many entertainments. not only for the sailors at H. M. C. S._ Queen Char- - lottet but for many vLrlting sea»- men. In this good work she was nblyi assisted by the Executive and members or the Auxiliary. The following ls the Address given by Mrs. rown at the annual meeting: “Officers and members o! the Women's Naval Auxiliary to H. M. C. S. ueen Charlotte: W ave come to the close o! another year, which has been very succession nnan ally due to your willing co-operation, for which you have my sincere thanks. From January until June we worked steadily, first with the Musical Revue and then the Spring Carnival, both giving excellent ro- sults tor the many hours treely glvten by our faithful Sewing Com- mi ee. Last Fall the personnel o! the ahips Wasaga and Vancouver were given a dance at the Sporting Club ‘m which all navy men were il- e At Christmas tunds were don- ated to the men ot H. M. C. S. Queen Charlotte to assist them in giving a party to all navy men's children. Other ships entertained were the Huntsville nrd three other ships in Port at that time. This took place atthe Leg.on Home where we also entertained the per- lsjonnel o! the Petroiia in Septem- er. During the summer the Execu- tive authorized the purchase o! a piano tor the men 0t the Queen Charlotte. " A dinner was held at the Char- lottetown Hotel (or "Men on Paci- fic Leave." Twenty tour Navy men attended. The expenses were divid- ed e ually by the Canadian Legion Auxi iary with us. ‘ The problem facing us now ls our duty toward our returning Navy Veterans in helping them to rehabilitate themselves.
