Season MONTREAL, Oct. l7—The camps of the Montreal Maroons and the Canadiens, local National Hockey League clubs, were buzzing with ac- tivity today as the‘ managers and trainers made preparations for the start of the training season. Several players of both teams re- ported today and the advance guard of the main body are due to arrive tomorrow and Thursday. Maroons go into action tomorrow with gym work. To the little group of players already in the city was added Jimmy Ward to- day. The youthful right winger ar- rived frorn the west in fine fettle. Canadiens follow in gym work. Manager Cecil Hart having called his first workout for Thursday. Dave ‘Prottier was around the Forum all day, but the former var- sity grad left winger, now a. bit of a storm centre as pro-hockey clubs are supposed to be scrambling for his service, was not showing any interest in the winter sport. Trot- tier has been moved to Montreal by his firm. The suggestion that Trottier will stick to business and, if he plays any hockey will confine his activit- ies to the amateur game, is gaining support. There seems strong sup- port for the idea that he will be seen eventually as left winger for the Victories in the local senior group of the Quebec Amateur Hoc- key Association. Annual Meeting M. P.
