This splendid edifice of modern design attests in a very striking manner, what sell-sacrl-i co-operatlon.can accomplish. There is no monetary wealth in this thriving French Aoaclian district. I There Are. however. ample re- sources of brawn and sinew. of good will and progressive spirit. which account for their achieve- ment in erecting an educational structure second to none in our rural communities. To begin with. the site is ideal. Well-nigh three acres of high ground was secured. affording large and commodious playroom. at the same time furnishing sufficient distance from the highway. The main building. which meas- two side entrances besides an out- side entrance to the b scment.nnd consists of four class-rooms. each of which contains a cloak-room. and a spacious corridor Joining the two entrances. The basemem. with its cement wall. contains two bowling alleys. two chemical toilet rooms. a furn- ace room. and a manual training room. The building will be equip- ped with a "hot air heating sys- tem". The fourth room has been built partly in view to accommo- date students of Grade XI. Apart from the free labor con- it-ibuted by the district, the sum of twelve hundred and sixty dol- lars has been raised by voluntai-,v subscription. and upward of 18000 feet of lumber was donated by various citizens of the vllage. Much credit is due the building committee whose assignment was the supervision and direction of the building operations. No less IN MEMORIAM MRS.
