Practically all organized ac- tivity with the exception of the Old Home Week harness racing programs comes to a stand-still in the Garden of The Gulf this week Activity got underway at the local racing oval yesterday afternoon with a “‘first’’ in that yesterday's program was the firs Monday afternoon racing program in the history of the Charlottetown Driving Park. Officials of the local racing association’have two top notch cards set to leave the wire today with the first program sched- uled te get underway at 2:30 p.m. and the evening card slated far 8.30 The fast class on this afternoon's program will include: Just Nancy, Avalon Worthy, Peter On Top, Paddy Land Girl, Ar- mond's Buddy, Captain Chief and Yukon King. Peter On Top the big grey horse teamed by Jack Ferguson and owned by Ray Stewart, Murray Harbor looks like the horse to beat in this event The fourth and eighth events on tonight's card have a well balanced field with ‘any of ‘the entries capable of leading the way to the-wire. Leaving the wire will be: Mr. McElwyn Key, Far Stride, Security Scott, Prince Robert, Leon's Thoughts, ess Gal, Rishaway Chief and Homestretch Linda. Chict’s Gal looms up aé a popular choice with the patrons of the pari-mutuel and Mr. McElwyn Key going away on the rail in the fourth dash, will be tough to head.
