The library building twenty-two by thirty-six feet. The exterior walls are finished with cedar shingles which have been treated 'with oil. The roof has green as- phalt twin-butt shingles. The trim is in white. The interior walls are of a soil shade of Ereen. with the children's corner in ivory tone. Beautiful silk screen colour prints from the National Gallery adorn the walls. There are scenes by such well known Canadian artists as A. Y. Jeckaoii. Emily Carr. A. J. ':-as- soon and others. 2.000 volumes The books. about 2.000 volumes, are arranged in groups. Adjoining the children's section is one for teen agers. other books are grouped as philosophy. religion, social science, science. arts. liter- ature. travel, biography and fic- tion. There is also a fine collection of periodicals. The library is so designed that it may be used for film programs. small meetings. etc. It is equipped with electric lights and outlets, and a Coleman furnace provides the best. work has all been done by local carpenters. painters, electricians and labourers. The sign is the work of Mr. James Broderick. Donations of material have been made by J. H. Myrick and Co.. and by Don Campbell. Mr. Hilton Barbour donated three barrels of oil for the furnace. A grant has been received from the Provincial Government and the Town of Al- berion contributed two hundred dollars. Numerous other donations have been received. :mong ' them an unsolicited one of five dollars from st. Louis school. In aid of the fund. a. variety concert was presented under direction of Mr. Gordon Coffin. Saturday afternoon a group of children led by Don: Hagen, pre- sented e concertin the barn of the R. C. M P. barracks donated pro- ceeds of two dollars and twenty cents to the fund. The outstanding donation was that of the building lot by Mr. J. W. Waugh. Much credit in due the finance commit- tee. Ramsay. The six young ladies of tonight's class have finished their three years of training and instruction and will later this evening receive their diplomas which will qualify them to carry on their life work in this high and noble profession. ”During the past year our Board suffered the loss of the passing of two of its members. I may say its most valued members. and I refer to the late Mr. H. T. Holman and the late Mr. Charles R. Rogers. The late Mr. Holman was the chairman of our board for many years and gave freely of his time and ability in the interests of the institution. The late Mr. Rogers had. I feel. the longest service of any member of the Board as a trustee. vice president and, fol- lowing the retirement of Mr. Hol- man. as chairman. Referring to the new hospital Mr. Arnett laid, "this fine struct- ure is nearing completion and we hope that it will be officially open- ed in the near future. He extended a sincere wish for their success in their chosen profession and felt that they would not have material success alone but also the satisfaction of doing their duty well and this would carry its own reward.
