JAIL DELIVERY AT TOLEDO

Toledo, 0.. May 10.-One of the
most daring jail deliveries in the history
ot Toledo occurred about 4 o’clock this
morning. and as a result live United
States prisoners-Thomas Burns, Wil-
Ilan Miller. George Jones, and William
-White, the Leipsic poetehice robbers,
and Fred Williams-are at large. A
sixth man, William Cox, was captured
while trying to follow the others.
` The prisoners climbed up the brick
chimney at the rear end of the county
jail. Cex was discovered as he reached
the top by a young colored lad
George Hightower. With arevolver the
lad held Cox at the top of the ehinmey
-while he shouted for help.
As soon as those about the jail 'saw
the boy making frantic gestures they
telephoned the police department _and
several omeere. soon reached the jail
A second message was seat to Engine
House No. 3 fer a hook and ladder
truck to get the prisoner down, as the
last man down had evidently broken
the rope. ’
Cox was covered with soot and a de-
plorable leeking object. ,He said, that
during the night one of the prisoners
