We congratulate all concerned on their gucceas, and expect to see Captain Ferguson in coramand of the new steamer next year. —— Turex Mex Kittep.—While an engine was taking water at a tank in the Grand Trunk Railway Yard, at Merriton, Ont., on Monday, a coal train ran into it. Michael Sherry, fire- | man, Jas. Williams, driver, and Jas. Allan, brakeman, all belonging to the coal train, were instantly killed. None of the men on the other train were killed. It is believed that the coal train got beyond the control of the engineer while descending the steep grade of the Welland division which leads into the vard.
