Three Red Subs In Mediterranean LONDON (AP)--An admiralty spokesman said Friday night three Soviet submarines are in the Mediterranean en route to Egypt and may be transferred to the Egyptian navy. The three mentioned by the spokesman were sighted in the English channel nine days ago. The spokesman said the small- est. escorted by a mincsweeper. is likely to be transferred to the Egyptian navy. and added: "And there is a possibility that the others will be as well." The two modern long-range subs and the smaller coastal type are expected to reach Egypt next Monday. the spokesman said.
