     union spokesman reluctant- 
     
     ly revealed that the house 
     
     is used by union officials 
     
     for brainwashing seminars 
     
     at which members of the 
     
     dissident Student Social 
     
     Society, Publishers of the 
     
     "Benevolent Irish Paper" 
     
     are taught the fundement— 
     
     als of student union pol- 
     
     icy. "Before they can 
     
     grasp the system they have 
     
     ‘first to be broken down in- 
     
     to an unresisting, unques- 
     
     tioning state in which 
     
     they will believe anything 
     
     an examiner tells them" 
     
     said the spokesman. 
     
    

    
     Only after completly 
     
     collapsing their minds and 
     
     wiping out all lingering 
     
     traces of self—respect and 
     
     common—sense can we begin 
     
     to tell them about union 
     
    
   
   
    
        
     
    
   
   
    
     policy,and basic zero-imput. 
     
     Some of them, inevitably, 
     
     cannot take it, but it is 
     
    
   
   
    
     'untrue to say that more

     (empty), and slightly sog— 
     
     gy noodles they threw me 
     
     out of their den of horror 
     
     without money or clothes, 
     
     with a placard on my body 
     
     reading "I will never lie

     the idea of loving others seems to be. hard for some -

     In a world preoccupied with getting, 
     
     the idea of giving may be hard' to understand. 
     
    
   
   
    
     In a world preoccupied with comfort, 
     
     the idea of ’doing without’ may be hard to understand. 
     
    
   
   
    
     In a world preoccupied with saving itself, 
     
     the idea of’Someone who has saved the world, may be 
     
     hard to understand. “ 
     
    

    
     Hard to understand. Quite possibly! _ 
     
     A commitment for life to trUth, to justice and to brother- 
     
     hood is the challenge presented to-day to the missionary 
     
     priest.-
