The father was driving the car in which Mrs. MacKinnon, Kather- ine, and their two other children. Kebin, aged 6. and Marlene, 4, were passengers. Katherine was on her mother's knee when the car began to skid and in the process of roll- ing over the child was thrown from her mother's arms and pinned between the partly open door and the body of the vehicle. she died almost immediately. The other oc- cupants of the car were uninjured. Mr. MacKinnon, who is on the composing room staff of The Guardian, was taking his family to Selkirk, P.E.l., the home of his parents, when the accident oc- curred. R.C.M.P. who investigated -the fatality, report that Mr. Mac- Kinnon was driving slowly at the time but that the car became un- controllable on the slippery high- way. Coroner C. A. PI- A A proposal will be made to the Provincial Government asking that the Potato Marketiiig Board be Wmbriscd entirely of producers with a membership of nine. This was revealed by a Federation of Agriculture official following a meeting of the directors held in Charlottetown last night. ”The Federation feels that the results of the recent plebiscite in- dicate that the farmers of Prince Edward Island are in favor or maintaiiilng the Board and that this body is the proper organization to carry out advertising and pro- motional work as well as to raise funds for disease control," said the spokesman. The meeting further recomiii.eiid- ed that the Potato Maickctiiig Board provide definite information on the true market value' of potatoes. It was pointed out that such service will be of value to the grower, although it does not guar- antee that at all times he will re- ceive the quotation listed. Hope was expressed at the meet- ing that slnce the plebiscite is now over, the strong feelings which prevailed diirlng the campaign, will have been forgotten and that His Board will continue to work in the best interests, not nnly of its supporters, but of the Industry as a whole. .
