Once upon a weekend, there were two.groups of people who decided to change their world. They were very, very funny cha- racters, because when they looked at one another, they saw what they wanted to see. They didn't see it like it was or is.Hhen one group looked at the other; they saw these really tell, tall characters whose shoes were podiuls. And on their heads they wore these huge flat hats with tassles. In one hand of each tallie there was a rolled parch- nent tied with a ribbon. Now these tall, tall,Tallies were really funny because they had to bend over evb ery tile that they cane to a threshold. As a result. the Tallies spent most of their tine bent over. When the Tallies look- _ed across the room they saw these short, short char -acters who walked around on their knees. These shor- ties were overloaded with books.Because they were there to change their world . they had to talk to one an- other. So they talked, and talked, and talked....As time progressed the Tallies began to have pains in PAGE 6 their backs, and the Short- ies began to have kinks in their necks. ‘ Now it looked like a discussion between the two groups was going to fail until one particularly short Shortie cane up with a brainstorn. He walked to one Tallie who seemed par- ticularly in pain and said. "Why don't yen take your podiums off?" So the Tallie took off his podiuns, and then realized that he could stand up straight. It was then that he noticed that the pain in_his back went away.Needless to say, this Tallie felt quite relieved until he looked down to th the Shortie and saw him at- ill in pain."flhy don't you stand up?",the Tallie said to the Shortie. So the Sh— ortie stood up.It was then that the Shortie and the Tallie realized that they could look each other in the eye. This was quite a discovery to both so they went back to tell their groups the good news. The whole room was in an up- roar with podiums flying about and Shorties stan- ding up.Everyone was brea- thing sighs of relief. We have already menti— oned that these two groups were together to change their world. But everyone was nervous to talk until_ the first Tallie and the first Shortie began tal- king. And everyone followed suit.So they talked and talked and talked....That's how much thay changed their world. That was the weekend. IIIIIIIlllllllllllllllllllllll The following is an article submitted by President R.J. baker con- cerning his thoughts on the Course Evaluation Conference 'held this past weekend. ’ I think that the week- ' end has been an overwhelming -success in bringing stud- ‘ ants and faculty together to discuss an important issue. Students have re~ peatedly told me how im- pressed they have been by I ‘the faculty's participation in the discussions. and the faculty tell me the same thing about the students; It is very gratifying to see so much mutual re- spect, but it is faintly sad that we have to come \_ _ - . q”: , wriséiV’i"¢1$§‘3,1_\4g2,erj¢ps - w; away from L the-respect quite so on however, 13 having more not a comp1. this one.
