Ve | a oe | Kidney ’ LOVE’S BURIAL. fhus she to me, with a tear in her eye, “Ah, love is dead, for | saw the boy die!” To her I said, ‘‘So, if that be quite clear, The best thing to do is to bury him, dear,” Then forth we went and sought out a place Where violets grew in the sepbyr’s embrace. A grave we dug with the pens we had used tn writing missives so dearly perused. Then gentled him down in a neat coffin made Of erosian notes that did never upbraid. But paused we then, ere the earth was returned, And, weeping, fell o’er the passion inurned. I soothed her grief, for what else could I do? And kissed her next till she foadled me too. Our pain was wine to the bog seeming dead; It gave him new strength, aad be lifted his head Then rose we straight, and away did we hie; We three together—for love cannot die. —Joubert Jeans. — i et anal |W oman’s Weakness A woman's reproductive organs are in the most in- tense and continuous sym- thy with her kidneys. In fact, exercise is almost necessary to cleanliness, for it is a great incentive tO perspiration, which is na- ture’s way of throwing out the impurities of the body to the surface of the skin, which are then removed by the use of soap and water. Open air exercise should be taken every day, but according to strength. One should return home after walking or riding or cycling with a sense of being pleasantly fatigued, but without any feeling of exhaustion. Erercise should be taken regularly, and if possible dumbbells should be used night and morning. The corset should not be worn while exercising with dumbbells. Skip- ping is an excellent exercise for the fig- ure. It is one of which our grandmothers were fond, and I have known certain old ladies who preserved quite youthful fig- uces by their habit of skipping. It is usual with children to throw the rope forward when skipping, but it is far bet- ter to throw it backward, for it expands the chest much hetter.—Home Notes. ‘Persia Is the ideal place fora TooRing glass peddler to live and move and ‘have his trade, for the Persians are as fond of the sbiny reflectors as are say- ages of beads. Every year immense numbers of mirrors of all sorts and kinds are shipped into the country of the shah. Germany, France and Bel- gium furnish most of the supply. in addition to having a fondness for see- ing themselves as looking glasses show them the Persians know no more pleas- ing parlor decorations than brilliant mirrors in gilt frames. Some of the Persian drawing rooms are so com- pletely hemmed in by great pier glass- es that visitors often become bewil- dered and try to walk through the glasses down the long aisle that seems to stretch in front. So bumped noses, knees and toes are not uncommon in that land of eriental splendor and mystery. Settled It.
