All the events are filled to over- dowing and an excellent day’s' sport is _assured. itil; isiiiioii’s _ Sir,-It anything further was required to emphasize the need of inspectidn of boats and their better equipment, the recent wholesale drowning accident at Halifax,s'upplies a case in point. A pro- iperly equiped boat will not sink even iwith a hole in her bottom. In the case ireilerred to had the boat floated the occupants would have probably all been saved. Under existing circumstances, .what happened at Halifax is likely to some extent to occur again.and a heavy responsibility attaches to those who have -the power to prevent to a large extent ‘the large annual loss of life caused by f the collapse of ineilicient boats. _ Yours Respectfully H.
