Fiae.—The alarm this morving sbout one o’clock was for a fire in a house on the Malprque Road a short distance from the city, which was completely destroyed. The house was owned by a woman named Martin, who 18 absent from the province, and was occupied by Patrick Mce- Kenpa. The firemen were on the spot very soon after getting the word, but not before the flames had done their work, The fire is supposed to have been caused by a defective flue. The alarm was given by Mr. J. T. Peardon, who lives near tie scene of the fireand who rode into the city on his wheel. Everything in the house wax destroyed.
