START YOUR YEAR OFF RIGHT AT THE PARTY OF ‘87! REPORT V.P. OPERATIONS Hi, I’m Karen Bishop, Vice- President down at the Student Union Barn. This is first a short note to let you know what my responsibilities are and how I have been fulfilling them. 1) Be responsible for the Social Committee, Orientation, Fall Fest and Winter Carnival. So far this year we have held Ori- entation and Fall Fest. Orienta- tion was successful and all the freshmen who participated had a great time. Thanks must be given to Steve Wynne and Michelle Cot- treau and their orientation com- mittee who worked so hard during the summer to make it a such a smash. Fall Fest under the capable leader- ship of Jan Underhill also had a good turn out. It was one of the most successful Fall Fests in recent years thanks to Jan’s initiative in planning and organizing. maintaining events in the Panther Lounge and preparing posters. Winter Carnival will be coming 2nd semester from January 26 - January 31. 2) Oversee the activities of the Operations Manager. f This means I set policy in conjunc- tion with the Panther Lounge Management Committee and Holly Good is responsible for carrying out the day to day operations of the Barn. 3) Be responsible for the opera- tional issues of all sub-organiza- tions. This includes having all establish- ed sub-organizations register with the Student Union and to encour- age groups to form sub-organiza- tions with the Union. It also means anyone who wants donations out of the sub-organization fund has to submit a grant application to me. I also meat with the subs to decide pub dates for each semester. These are just a few of my duties and responsibilities as VP Opera- tions. I also organize the New Year’s Eve Bash that takes place December 31, 1986 at the Barn. Avoid the hassles of last year and buy your tickets early. =November 28, 1986 NOW DELIVERING DELIVERY STARTING AT 8:00 PM for only $1.00 Third Floor S.u.b. Barn
