King, on Saturday the 4th inst. at the Psrsonage, Tryon, witha buffalo robe and horse blanket. Anaddress accompanied the presentation, to which thy Rev. gentleman ree plied, thanking the donors for their present, Mr. King is holding special services at Crapaud, and great imterestis being mani fested. Richardson, of the Hansard staff, of Ottaws, who visited this city last year with the Liquor Traffic Commission, slipped on the icy sidewalk at Ottawa on Thursday last and broke his left a m Captain Walter Rowe, son of J. T. Rowe, Esq , of Charlottetown, is in command of the brigt. Edith, which went ashore at Fox's Point, ten miles east of Halifax, as stated in our despatches of yesterday. At latest ac counts the Edith had not shown any signs of breaking up. We hope that ere this the crew have been safely landed. [From exchanges at hand this afterncor, it is pleasing to learn that Captain Rowe is safe, and that it was by a letter from him that the disaster to the Edith wes communicated to Halifax. He has a substantial, practical education, hav- ing been for a considerable length of time en- gaged as a school teacher before coming west to engage in his present business, as a real es- tate and commission’ broker.
