We think. to get people interested in good music who ordinarily do 1105 respond to cultural activities of this sort than the community concerts which brought in top notch artists, could ever do. The community concert railed in Bum- ” because, in our humble opinion. people were asked to pay to listen to types oi music (or whlch their musical background had leit them totally unprepared. O I I The honest music lovers attend- ed and thoroughly enjoyed them- selves. The pretenders also came. applauded vigorously, voiced their trumped-up appreciation, and sui- iered boredom checriully ior the sake oi their standing in the com- munity. The other honut group whose music experience did not permit them to enjoy the higher forms oi music, bought tickets the ilrst year, perhaps, in order to help out what they knew was a worthwhile community enterprise. but aiterwards dropped out. . . . The Musical Isestlval, by means of the children, is getting more and more people interested in good music every year. The soil is be- ing prepared, slowly but surely, for an honest appreciation oi the best music, and it is our opinion that alter a few more years of these Musical Festivals, the Com- munity Concert could come back to Summerside and ilourish here. 0 O I Summersidc, and Kenslngton Ehave done particularly well in the 1952 competition. A great many lpeople irom these centres were Inot able to get to Charlottetown to enjoy the two concerts put on Iby the iestlvai winners. We think it would be a line thing it the Prince County iestival winners were to give concerts in Kensing- on, Summerslde, and ,osslble oth- er centres. We believe iairly large crowds would turn out ior such entertainment. We had a re- hearsal in Summerslde, but so many repetitions oi the same num- ber tend to detract irom the en- joyment. The very best. periorm- ance in each class would certainly be a treat Diplomacy and tact are the es- sential qualities ior those who take part at Panmunjom in the Korean peace talks. When a Com- munist utters not only deliberate, but carefully considered ialse- hoods, does someone on our side rise up in wrath and say? "You're a liarl" He does not. Instead he refers to the tedious reiteration on the part oi the Communists oi statements which have no basis in iact. The circurnlocuatlon seems to take all the sting out of the in- sult. When the Communist rises to comment on statements made by the Allies, he will chose his words less careiully, perhaps, but still careiul enough not to break any oi the rules in this game they are playing. All the world will know, however, that what he really means is: "You're another!” PARIS, May 8 - (Reuters) - Capt.
