Anvthony Maher, formerly of Roseerea, lately of Nenagh, and latest of Rathdowney, was brought up in custedy, ¢ harged by Sub- Constable Jeremiah Regan with having | s‘olen a silk umbrella from the house ot Dr. Morton, Summer-hill, Nenagh, on Saturday, the 12th instant. The priv- cipal evidence for the prosecuti ym was that of Nanny Ralph, a servant in the| empl loyment of Dr. Morton, who deposed that on the day in question the prisoner | called at her master’s house and asked if Dr. Morton was in. She replied that he was not, Mrs. Mortou she then went to acquaint her and asked if yould do; mistress of the presence of the man iv the hall who wante:! to see the doctor On her eturn to the hall she missed from the stand a silk umbrella, the property of a young lady then on a visit to Mrs. Morton.
