The funk holes are merely shel- ters from the weather _and protection from flying splinters oi’ shells landing near by. They could not withstand a direct hit from a shell, but in_ them the lnen are in far less danger than out- side, for the ‘percentage of dii'ect hits on funk -holes is very small. Pte.Taylor as the oldest son of Mr. Wm. It. Taylor of Granville, and was reported killed i_n action on April- 25th, 1918.
