WE are happy to learn that our talented young friend, Master Lawrence W. Watson, gon of W. R. Watson, Esq., Sheriff of Queen’s County, still continues to gain bril- liant academic distinctions in one of our leading Provincial Colleges. He has been at King’s'College, Windsor, for the last two years, and in his recent examination ac- quitted himself well. He took first rank in Greek and French, in competition with an under-graduate four years his senior, who had been one term longer in the class than he was. In English they were equal, and in all the other branches young Watson was close upon the heels of his rival. We con- gratulate him on his success, and hope he may leng live to enjoy and wear his ‘‘blush- ing honors thick upon him.” Tue Comics.—-The Toronto Lance is as bright as ever. She left the house dur- ing the night and escaped to the woods at Brighton, where the police are now seeking for her. Those arrested were examined be- fore the Stipendiary Magistrate this morn- ing.
