Gay, was resumed this morning before J. T. Mel- lish, Esq., J. P. The accused appeared and also his sureties. His counsel, Mr. Hodgson, ( C., and the Attorney General, were also present. Ne farther evidence was offered. Mr. Mellish said that after the most careful consideration of all the evidence, and of the law bearing on the case, he had arrived at the conclusion that the prisoner should be dis- charged. He, at the same time, suitably ad- monished young Henderson, and saggested that the iegislature lose no time in passing a law restricting the use of firearms in this province. The statements that two Canadian vessels which recently sailed out of Maple Bay were armed witu euns and would re- sist the American Revenue Cutters is said to be false. Messrs.
