Bold Bowser and the Rat, Bowser is a Washington dog. Bowser saw a rat in front of a Capital Ile went after the rodent, and both pursued and pursuer suddenly disappeared. Tho rat had taken toa sewer opening under the curbstone. The dog had fol- lowed. The plunge involved a descent of about 40 feet into the sewer’s muin line, and an ordinary dog would have found the fall fatal. Not this o Bowser’s master and others located the dog under a manhole. A tin can was low- ered on a hook and repe. Bowser climbed into the ean and was pulled out. Ho had the rat in his mouth, and, dropping it at his master’s feet, he went to look for an- other. — Philadelphia Record. ne, Perspiration. Human perspiration, if injected into dogs or rabbits, acts like a deadly poison, according to M. Arloing’s experiments. Perspiration secreted during hard muscu- lar work his more texic power than the ordinary kind, while that obtained from subjects whose secretion has been checked by cold is very poisonous.
