Walker was given to the church by his wife and family. It was unveiled by his daughter Mae. then presented by his son Isaac and received by the Session on behalf of the congregation as a sacred trust in memory of the late John William Walker and dedicated to the glory _dt God by the minister, Rev. James A. Mc- Gowan. Mr. Walker was one of three remaining members who at- tended snd supported the church since its dedication 64 years ago. When a young man he united with the church, ever standing firm to the doctrines and principles of his profession. After the dedication the Sacrament of Baptism was administered to Norma Gail. in- fant child of Rev. and MrsJames A. McGowan by Rev. Charles Car- negy. Summerside; Albert Earl. son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Ander- son, grandson of Mr. Walker; Robert Errol. son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Semple. and Hazel June. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Delaney. who were baptized by the minister, Rev. Swimming. softball and quoits were greatly enjoyed by young and old. The softball team under the cap- tainship of Mr. Louis Bezeau won over the team of Mr. R. L. Willet by the score of 14 to 12. They defeated tha luckleas R.C.A.F. aggregation in tho first tilt by tho score of 11 to 3. and battled to a one-all draw with the Charlotte- town Abegwelts in the second game which was called at the end of the sixth inning because of rain. MacLeod, who pitched for the alr- men. was the victim of four scratch singles in the early innings, and as the game progressed the C. d: B. boys got to him more and more. hitting a number of solid smashes off his hooks. Daley on the mound for the construction crew was in fine shape, allowing only five nits. two of these including a. triple to left field by Jake 'I‘hurmeier oc- curring in the final frame. Frankie Oatway had a perfect day at the plate hitting three for three. and also continued to shine in right field, getting a semi-shoe- string catch in the second which earned him a spirited burst ot np- plause. Henry Gallant belted three in four trips and Mulholland. whose bunting was a feature of both games. hit two for three. Manager Les Gaudet also got a brace of hlngles, Cox.
